Paul Yang
Paul is the Chairman and Co-Founder of CDIB Capital. He also serves as Senior
Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of China Financial
Development Holdings, responsible for the Group direct investment activities.
Prior to CDFH, Paul served as Managing Director at Developmental Bank of
Singapore where he was responsible for DBS Bank’s private equity business
across Asia. Prior to DBS, Paul was Managing Director of ICG Asia Ltd. Prior
to that, he was with the Principal Investment Area of Goldman, Sachs & Co. based in New York and Hong Kong. Paul also served at General Atlantic Partner
and at the Boston Consulting Group.
Paul is a Governor of the China Venture Capital Association (“CVCA”) and sits on a number of boards across the Group’s portfolio companies.
Paul holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and MS and BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Lionel de Saint-Exupery
Lionel is President and Co-Founder of CDIB Capital. Prior to CDIB Capital, Lionel was as a senior banker in the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers based in New York and London. During his investment banking career, Lionel worked on more than US$25 billion of public and private transactions in Mergers & Acquisitions as well as Equity and Debt Capital Markets. His experience spans across a broad range of industries such as Financial Services, Industrial, Consumer, Media, Technology and Business Services throughout North America, Europe and Asia. During those years, he advised leading private equity firms across a variety of leveraged buyout, trade sale and IPO transactions. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Lionel was a member of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions practice of Booz-Allen & Hamilton.
Lionel is a Director of Ecofin Fund Management Limited and SE Properties Limited. He also serves on the advisory boards of a number of private equity funds including the Asian Infrastructure Fund, Carlyle Asia Partners, Tenaya Capital, CX Partners and Riverwood Capital.
Lionel holds an MBA with Distinction from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a BS in Finance & Entrepreneurship from France’s HEC School of Management.
Adam Bornstein
Adam is a Senior Vice President at CDIB Capital’s Hong Kong office, where he
shares responsibilities for private equity fund investments and direct/co-investments
in private companies in Australia, India, and Greater China. Prior CDIB
Capital, Adam founded Ymer Venture Capital Asia, an early stage venture
capital fund located in Shanghai, where he focused on IT-enabled services
in the multi-media, gaming, consumer services, and telecom verticals. As
an investor and former director of Hong-Kong based Boom Securities (Boom.com),
Adam played a key role in Boom’s early development into one of Asia’s leading
web-based brokerages. He has also consulted for Booz Allen & Hamilton and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. Adam serves on the Boards of
TouchMedia International Holdings and Dongsheng Chemphy Limited
as well as on the advisory board of Samara Capital.
Adam holds an MBA from Boston University Graduate School of Management
and a BA from American University School of International Service.
Lilian Wu
Lilian is SVP Finance and Administration of CDIB Capital International, where she is responsible for the Group’s finance, operations and administration. Prior to joining CDIB Capital, Lilian served as the Head of Administration and Finance of Asian Capital Partners Group, an independent investment banking and advisory firm operating regionally in Asia. Her responsibilities included the supervision of Asian Capital Partners’ offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bombay, Bahrain, Tehran and London; as well as corporate administration, compliance, regulatory reporting, tax and human resources. She also provided support to the Group’s major transactional, client and strategic initiatives. Prior to Asian Capital Partners, she served in a similar capacity for Prudential Hong Kong.
Lilian holds an MBA from the University of South Australia.
Shirley Liu
Shirley is a Manager at CDIB Capital’s Hong Kong office, where she focuses on its investment activities across Asia. Prior to CDIB Capital, Shirley worked for the investment banking department of Anglo Chinese Corporate Finance where she was involved in a number of transactions including IPOs as well as Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to that, she worked in the audit practice of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in Hong Kong.
Shirley holds a BBA (first class honor) of Accountancy from the City University of Hong Kong and is an alumnus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She is also a qualified accountant of ACCA (Associate of Chartered and Certified Accountants-UK).
Aniruddha Nagendra
Ani is an Associate at CDIB Capital’s Hong Kong office, where he focuses on pan-Asian
investment opportunities. Prior to joining CDIB Capital, Ani worked in the
Investment Banking Division of J.P. Morgan in New York, focusing on leveraged
debt financing for a variety of transactions including acquisitions and
leveraged buy-outs. He has also held positions with Merrill Lynch and Development
Principles Group, a China-focused middle-market private equity fund.
Ani holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University
Kiwi Chun
Kiwi is an Associate in CDIB Capital’s Hong Kong office, where she is responsible for the middle office function and assists the investment team in strategic planning, portfolio management and reporting. Kiwi previously worked as Assistant Manager for TVG Capital Partners, with responsibility for fund administration and financial reporting. Prior to that, Kiwi served as a Senior Fund Accountant for HSBC Alternative Fund Services where she served major hedge fund and private equity fund clients.
Kiwi holds a BBA of Accountancy from the City University of Hong Kong. She has passed all the requisite qualification examinations for the HKICPA (Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants).
Kimberly Leung
Kimberly is the AVP Finance & Administration in CDIB Capital’s Hong Kong office. She is responsible for the Group’s finance, operations and administration. Prior to joining CDIB Capital, Kimberly served as the Office Manager of Candover Asia Limited where she oversaw the daily office operations, finance, budget and administration. Prior to that, Kimberly served as the Accounting Manager, North Asia of 3i Asia Pacific where she played a major role in the set up of its Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing offices. She was responsible for finance, budget, HR and administration and also assisted the investment professionals in portfolio monitoring activities.
Kimberly holds an MBA from Newport University.
