CDIB Capital Announces New Senior Hires Further Strengthening Its Team in Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York

Continuing its commitment to build a world class front and middle office across its regional and international footprint, CDIB Capital Group (“CDIB”) is pleased to announce three new senior additions: Robert Liu joins as Managing Director and Co-Head of the Regional Healthcare Practice Group in Shanghai, Alex Lam as Senior Vice President and Head of Finance in Hong Kong and Adi Brenner as Vice President in New York.

Robert Liu has extensive experience in the healthcare industry and private equity.  He will be primarily focused on further expanding CDIB’s healthcare-related coverage in Asia Pacific ex Taiwan.  Robert was a Principal at Johnson & Johnson, where he led the venture investments of the group for all of Asia. He has led numerous venture and private equity investments in life science and more broadly healthcare in China and Asia Pacific. Prior to that, Robert was the Director of Business Development & Strategy at GlaxoSmithKline, and the Global Corporate Development & Strategy team of Charles River Laboratories.  Robert received a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Rochester, an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Master Degree in Medicine from Tongji Medical University. 

Prior to joining CDIB, Alex Lam was a Senior Vice President at Bank of China Group Investment Limited where he led the management accounting and treasury functions of the Private Equity Group.  Prior to that, he held appointments as Accounting and Finance Manager at Kerry Holdings, head of Accounting at Ogilvy & Mather, Assistant Vice President at PCCW and Audit Manager at KPMG.  Alex received an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Prior to joining CDIB, Adi Brenner was an Investment Professional at Eden Capital where he was responsible for private equity investments focused on the business services, healthcare and education sectors.  His earlier experience includes different appointments at Turning Rock Partners, Hudson Hill Capital, AxleTech International (a Carlyle portfolio company), Critical Point Partners and Platinum Equity in Los Angeles, in both their special situations and private equity groups. Adi received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a dual degree from the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business.
